A welcoming specialist secondary school in Hackney, catering for students with moderate learning needs, is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 10 team for the remainder of the academic year.

This role is ideal for someone who brings enthusiasm, resilience, and a calm, supportive approach to the classroom. You'll play a key role in helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

What you'll be doing:

Providing hands-on, in-class support to Year 10 learners with moderate learning needs

Encouraging participation and fostering positive learning habits

Supporting pupils with social interaction, confidence building, and emotional regulation

Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver meaningful support

What we're looking for:

Experience working with SEND learners is beneficial

Strong behaviour management and the ability to form positive relationships quickly

Backgrounds in mentoring, youth work, or sport are highly valued-as students enjoy active, movement-based learning

Role Information:

Location: Hackney

Contract: Full academic year (September 2025 - July 2026)

Pay: Starting at £95 per day, increasing to £128 after 12 weeks
