Senior Analyst

A major Japanese trading company is currently recruiting a Senior Analyst to work in their London office.

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, recommending, and executing new investment and divestment opportunities, and managing and monitoring their existing portfolio companies.

The ideal candidate should have relevant investment and financial analytical skills, a strong educational background with further qualifications viewed favourably, and the ability to collaborate effectively.


TYPE: Permanent, full-time

WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday

SALARY: £49-59k depending on experience

START: ASAP

LOCATION: London (3 days in the office and 2 days working from home)


Senior Analyst Main Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, recommend, and execute new investment and divestment opportunities
  • Manage and monitor their existing portfolio companies
  • Collaborate with third-party advisors and their business development team
  • Review teasers and external investment memorandums
  • Develop integrated three statement forecast operating models
  • Determine target company valuation and calculate expected investment returns
  • Contribute to the formulation of desired investment terms and structure
  • Assist in drafting and submitting LOIs and NBOs
  • Participate in transaction negotiations and due diligence
  • Draft investment memorandums and present recommendations
  • Monitor portfolio company KPI’s and financial performance
  • Collaborate with the unit to formulate and implement portfolio company strategy
  • Support sourcing and execution of portfolio company M&A
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of portfolio company performance
  • Keep abreast of industry trends relevant to portfolio companies
  • Support governance-related works and provide recommendations to their management


Senior Analyst Ideal Candidate:

  • Professional qualifications such as IMC, CFA, CA/ACA, MBA or equivalent
  • Relevant investment, valuation, modelling, financial analysis, accounting, and/or transactional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with further post graduate qualifications considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player
  • Analytical nature and inquisitive mindset
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Business level of English
