We're partnering with a well-established company looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join their team. This role plays a key part in ensuring strong cashflow management through the effective delivery of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.

You'll be joining a collaborative finance team and working closely with stakeholders across the business, suppliers and customers. This role would suit someone with strong purchase ledger or broader transactional finance experience, who is seeking longevity and stability within their next position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and allocate customer remittances, reconcile accounts, and monitor credit limits/payment performance.
• Manage customer relationships and resolve queries in coordination with Customer Excellence and Account Managers.
• Process invoices accurately, manage supplier accounts, reconcile statements, and investigate aged-creditor discrepancies.
• Work with Procurement and Inventory teams to resolve issues, maintain correct supplier setups, and optimise payment terms or discounts.
• Assist with month-end close and reporting activities.
• Support with internal and external audit requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and change initiatives across the transactional finance function.

Skills & Experience

• Experience across transactional finance (AP/AR).
• Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels, including suppliers, customers and internal teams.
• Proficient Excel user.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, working capital, and cashflow.
• Proactive and improvement-focused, with a drive to streamline processes.
• Dependable with strong follow-through and problem-solving capability.
• High attention to detail and conscientious approach to work.
