Job Description

Head of Finance | Creative Agency | £75-85K

The Business

A high-growth media and content group operating across the UK and US. The business reaches a global Gen Z audience at scale through multiple owned social communities and works with some of the world's most recognisable consumer and technology brands. Backed by strong organic growth, the company is now investing in its finance function to support the next phase of international expansion.

The Opportunity

This is a newly created Head of Finance role, reporting into an experienced Fractional CFO and working closely with the senior leadership team. You'll take full ownership of the finance function, leading a small team and acting as the primary commercial finance partner to the business.

The role combines hands-on financial control with forward-looking FP&A and commercial analysis. It's well suited to someone who enjoys operating at both strategic and operational levels in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes.
  • Deliver insightful management reporting, board packs, and performance analysis.
  • Develop KPIs and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis for growth initiatives and investments.
  • Support financial due diligence for new markets, partnerships, or strategic opportunities.

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

  • Partner with revenue and commercial teams on pricing, margin analysis, and profitability.
  • Support contract reviews, commercial negotiations, and ROI analysis.
  • Analyse P&L performance by revenue stream, project, and market.
  • Challenge cost base and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Own monthly management accounts for UK and US entities, including group consolidation.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and journals.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and multi-currency reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including revenue recognition.

Cash Flow, Treasury & Compliance

  • Manage cash forecasting, including rolling 13-week cash flow models.
  • Monitor cash runway and support headcount and growth planning.
  • Oversee FX exposure and treasury management.
  • Lead statutory accounts preparation and external audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and US tax obligations (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax), working with advisors where required.

Systems, Process & Team Leadership

  • Drive improvements in finance systems, processes, and controls.
  • Lead automation and system implementation projects.
  • Line manage and develop a Financial Controller and Finance Assistant, alongside an outsourced US finance team.
  • Build a scalable finance function capable of supporting rapid growth.

About You

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with 5+ years post-qualified experience.
  • Media, digital, agency, or high-growth consumer-facing businesses.
  • Experience in a Head of Finance, Senior Finance Manager, or Lead Finance Business Partner role.
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and commercial FP&A.
  • Confident business partner with experience supporting revenue-generating teams.
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge (IFRS / UK GAAP).
  • Experience working across multi-entity or international structures (UK/US highly desirable).
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and able to balance detail with strategic thinking.

Desirable Experience

  • Revenue recognition exposure within digital or platform-led models.
  • Finance transformation, automation, or systems implementation experience.
  • Exposure to fundraising, M&A, or investor reporting.

What's On Offer

  • £75,000 - £85,000 base salary.
  • Hybrid working model.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Opportunity to build and shape a finance function with genuine autonomy.
  • Close partnership with an experienced Fractional CFO.
  • Clear progression as the business continues to scale internationally.

We actively welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and assure you that every candidate will be thoughtfully considered for the roles we represent, without regard to race, religion, gender expression, disability, or sexual orientation.
