Job Description

Audit Assistant Manager - Top 50 Firm | London | Hybrid Working

Looking for that next step after qualifying - somewhere you can grow, not just stay still?

This forward-thinking Top 50 accountancy practice has built a reputation for combining technical excellence with a genuinely supportive culture. Their audit team is award-nominated, collaborative, and offers clear, structured career development all the way through to Manager and beyond.

The opportunity

You'll join as an Audit Assistant Manager, working on a varied portfolio of clients across sectors such as financial services, property, technology, education, and not-for-profit. Expect exposure to audits with turnovers up to £250m, including specialist assignments (FCA regulated, pensions, groups, and LLPs).

You'll play a key role in leading audits from planning through to completion, managing on-site teams, reviewing work, and working closely with managers and partners. It's a great fit for a recently qualified ACA or ACCA with strong experience from a UK practice who's ready to step into leadership and build their management skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead larger and more complex audit engagements, managing teams and client relationships
  • Take ownership of planning, fieldwork and completion, ensuring audits are delivered to high standards and on budget
  • Support and develop junior team members, offering coaching and on-the-job training
  • Review statutory accounts (FRS 102 / IFRS) and liaise with tax colleagues on related work
  • Take part in client closing meetings, gaining valuable exposure to boards and decision-makers
  • Over time, manage a small portfolio of clients, developing commercial and managerial skills

About you

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, trained in a UK accountancy firm
  • Confident leading audits and working with OMBs and SMEs across varied sectors
  • Solid working knowledge of FRS 102 (IFRS a bonus)
  • Strong communication skills - you're proactive, approachable, and collaborative
  • Ambitious and keen to progress to Manager level within a supportive team

What's on offer

  • Hybrid working (typically 2-3 days in the office)
  • 28 days holiday (Christmas closure)
  • Flexible hours (core 10:00-4:30)
  • Pension & life assurance
  • Private healthcare and wellbeing support
  • Dress for your diary policy
  • Social and inclusive culture - from rooftop events to team socials, book clubs and more
  • Modern, open-plan London office with a roof terrace overlooking Bank

This firm genuinely invests in its people. You'll be supported with a clear development framework designed to help you thrive and progress.

If you're a recently qualified auditor who values autonomy, progression, and balance, this is the kind of role that moves your career forward and keeps life in balance. Contact
