Job Description

Looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager for a 6month contract role with a growing media business. Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial performance, with a strong focus on revenue recognition, month-end reporting, and forward-looking commercial insight. The role will provide high-quality financial information and analysis across the full Profit & Loss account to support strategic decision-making by senior stakeholders.

This role combines technical finance ownership (including revenue accuracy, reporting, and controls) with a commercial and strategic remit, supporting revenue growth, long-term planning, and performance optimisation across multiple revenue streams. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to step into a commercially focused finance management role, working closely with the CFO, co-CEOs, Senior Leadership Team, and a range of editorial and commercial teams.

Offering £350-400 a day outside IR35

  • Act as a commercial finance partner to revenue-generating teams, providing insight on performance, risks, and opportunities to support SME growth.
  • Lead short-term and long-term forecasting and budgeting, including ownership of the 5-year financial model to support strategic growth planning.
  • Drive FP&A analysis, including variance analysis, scenario modelling, and KPI reporting to inform senior leadership decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reporting packs and dashboards for the Board and Senior Leadership Team, enhancing visibility of commercial performance.
  • Develop ROI and investment analysis to support growth initiatives and promote financial discipline within a scaling SME environment.
  • Support the CFO with cash flow forecasting and working capital management, critical to sustainable business growth.
  • Oversee and support the Senior Finance Assistant, contributing to an efficient, well-controlled finance function.
  • Continuously improve finance processes, reporting, and controls to ensure the function scales effectively with SME growth.
