A major commercial bank offering a broad range of banking and financial services to corporate and institutional clients internationally, is looking for a Finance Assistant to join them on a temporary basis, initially for 3 months. The role is processing daily financial information and ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial records. The role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting management reporting and reconciliations.

• Location: London
• Contract length initially for 3 months
• Salary: Equivalent to £43K

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable

• Support the accounts payable process by coding supplier invoices and processing them through SAGE into the General Ledger
• Ensure all invoices are properly authorised prior to payment
• Process payments for authorised invoices in a timely manner

General Ledger

• Prepare and input journal entries into the General Ledger
• Assist in maintaining accurate and complete accounting records

Nostro Account Reconciliations

• Prepare, check, and distribute Nostro account reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve outstanding or reconciling items promptly

Management Information

• Produce daily management accounts and reporting
• Prepare weekly and monthly management information reports as required

Fixed Assets

• Perform monthly reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register

GL and Suspense Accounts

• Assist with the monthly reconciliation of General Ledger and suspense accounts

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

• Good general systems knowledge
• Working knowledge of SAGE accounting software is preferred
• Familiarity with MIDAS systems would be an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines in a structured, process-driven environment
