Location: Southfields
Position: Teaching Assistant
Start date: April
Pay: £1700 - £2000 per monthWe are working with an OFSTED outstanding school in Southfields that are looking for a teaching assistant to join the school for the new academic year. The school are proud of their reputuation for high educational standards in a creative and caring environment. They are at the heart of the local community and have a strong sense of individuality and history. The successful teaching assistant will be joining to support a class of 20-25 students. Your salary will be reviewed on a term by term basis until the end of the academic year with the view to go permanent.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEACHING ASSISTANT

Teaching Assistant support for Pupils:

Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupilsTeaching Assistant Support for Teachers:

Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will beQualifications needs as a Teaching Assistant:

Essential:

Good literacy skills - GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
Good numeracy skills- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent Desirable for a teaching assistant:
