Our client is looking for an experienced Sewing Machine Maintenance Engineer to join them on a permanent, full-time basis .

About the Role:

As a Sewing Machine Engineer (Mechanical), you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all mechanical aspects of our plant and equipment. From responding to breakdowns to implementing preventative measures, your work will ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime. Key responsibilities include:

Respond promptly to plant breakdowns, ensuring swift resolution.
Accurately report mechanical breakdowns and spare parts usage.
Fabricate and weld as needed, utilizing your machining skills in lathes, milling, and drilling tasks.
Maintain and enforce safety standards on all machinery, reporting any concerns promptly.
Drive efficiency improvements in machine operations.
Conduct routine maintenance to reduce downtime.
Address engineering issues and engage in re-engineering where necessary.
Provide feedback on raw material issues and contribute to machine fault finding and repairs.
Mentor and develop apprentices to cultivate future talent.
Assist in the installation of new machinery and undertake small project work as required.

About You:

City & Guilds trained/qualified engineer with proven experience.
Proficient in pneumatics, compressed air systems, cutting machines, and fabrication.
Additional expertise in lathe & milling is advantageous.
Strong manual handling skills and a commitment to safety.
Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to work.
Ability to manage your time effectively and work independently.
Impeccable punctuality and a dedication to quality craftsmanship.
