Job Description Stem Cell Research Scientist (MY45567)

A fast-growing biotech start-up is looking for a Higher Scientist or Scientist to join their research team in Manchester. The company’s focus is on technological development of reproductive cells with iPS and ES cells.
This is an amazing opportunity for those looking to join the commercial industry from academia and wishing to continue to progress their career in research.

TYPE: Full-time, permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday – Friday
SALARY: £45-55K depending on experience (Negotiable)
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Central Manchester

Biomedical Higher Scientist / Scientist Responsibility:
• Conduct research in line with our research policy with other research members while discussing with the Chief Science Officer and Principal Scientist
• In order to understand the overall research, share the progress with the person in charge of another theme in the company and hold a discussion
• Collecting necessary information from research papers, etc.
• Giving instructions to technical staff
• Summarize the research data obtained and create materials based on that data

Biomedical Higher Scientist / Scientist Ideal Candidate:
• Business level fluency in English
• Obtains PhD in the field of Medicinal, Biomedical, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or Genetic Engineering
• Over 3 years of research experience in both germ cells (support cells in ovary/testis, or meiosis) and stem cell
• Obtains research extensive research experience in any of the areas of molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, genetic engineering, developmental biology, genomics, or high-throughput assays
• Those who can plan, promote, and examine data on their own or in a team

Biomedical Higher Scientist / Scientist Advantages criteria:
• Research experience in drug discovery and regenerative medicine at private companies
• Experience in handling pluripotent stem cells (ES/iPS cells), differentiation induction, FACS, RT-PCR, etc. (good at genetic engineering)
