The Role:
As a Senior Claims Assessor, you play a crucial role in our mission to deliver timely, accurate, and empathetic claim resolutions across a variety of critical areas including Income Protection, Critical Illness, Permanent Total Disability, and Life Insurance. This position demands the highest levels of fairness, accuracy, and efficiency in decision-making, aligned with our company's performance objectives.
Responsibilities:
You will be tasked with evaluating claims, making informed decisions on claim admittance, and offering recommendations on cases involving potential declines, terminations, or misrepresentations.
Actively manage a specific portfolio of claims, ensuring proactive engagement and resolution.
Engage directly with claimants to facilitate a transparent and supportive claims process, employing thorough investigations and leveraging necessary medical or other relevant evidence to make informed assessments in line with our service standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our claims management philosophy and procedures by making innovative recommendations.
Serve as a key technical resource for the Risk Claims administration teams, offering expert guidance and support.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Possesses at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in assessing claims related to Income Protection, Waiver of Premium, Total and Permanent Disability, Critical Illness, or Life Insurance.
Exhibits exceptional communication skills, especially over the phone, capable of empathetically handling interactions with individuals in varying emotional states.
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and general computer usage.
Has a solid track record of making accurate adjudication decisions, including the authorisation or rejection of claims within granted authority limits.
Proven capability in mentoring and coaching junior claims assessors, enhancing their technical proficiency and decision-making skills.
