Overview
Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Technical Manager to oversee the technical operations within this FMCG food manufacturing business. In this critical role, you will lead the technical function, ensuring the delivery of a superior service encompassing food safety, quality assurance, legislative compliance, and meeting customer requirements. Your leadership will be characterised by clear communication, meticulous planning, and unwavering discipline as you guide the Technical Team towards upholding the highest standards of quality and safety across all facets of the operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Technical Manager
Develop and execute technical strategy, driving results with stakeholders and teams daily.
Lead site preparations for BRC (Version 9) audit success.
Provide technical leadership, address challenges, and manage crises.
Ensure consistent adherence to technical standards, policies, and legislation.
Review, update, and communicate technical manuals and processes regularly.
Maintain and align HACCP (HACCP/TACCPVACCP) program is maintained and aligned with best practice at all times Implement and amend QMS for product standards.
Ensure effective QA and Hygiene team management.
Implement pest control mechanisms for food safety.
Conduct trend analysis of quality issues.
Manage internal audits and implement corrective actions.
Advise on compliance with statutory requirements and legislation.
Liaise with regulatory agencies for audits and reports.
Foster teamwork and prioritise customer satisfaction.
Mitigate risk of food recalls with robust safety policies and training.
Requirements for the Technical Manager
Minimum 5 years' experience in high-care/risk-ready meals or cooked meat product FMCG food manufacturing is essential.
Degree level education in food science or related field.
Proficient in agricultural animal food production, including chicken, beef, pork, fish, turkey, lamb, and duck.
Expertise in health and safety/food safety systems & legislation, including Food Safety and Hygiene Level 3, HACCP Level 3, and Food Safety Level 3. Awareness of Listeria and Microbiology is essential.
Skilled in collaborating effectively with Technical, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills.
Excellent communication abilities with internal teams, external clients, suppliers, authorities, and visitors.
Must be able to commute to or relocate to a commutable distance of the business in Suffolk.
