Job Description

TeacherActive are seeking to appoint an Early Years Practitioner/ EYP to work within a Day Nursery based within Leicestershire (LE17). The Nursery is committed to providing high-quality education and nurturing environments for all its students. With a strong emphasis on creativity, inclusivity, and holistic development, the school aims to inspire and empower young learners on their educational journey.

You must be at least level 3 qualified, have a valid UK driving license and be able to work using your own initiative. You must have a sound knowledge of the EYFS and Child Protection/Safeguarding procedure and enjoy working with children. This department caters to the educational needs of young learners, providing a foundation for their academic journey. The school places great emphasis on staff training in the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding to ensure optimal support for the children in their care.

We have continuous ad hoc supply needs, as well as part time and full time, short and long-term positions available.

The ideal Early Years Practitioner/ EYP should have the following:

Level 3 Childcare
A calm, patient and caring personality
Valid UK driving license
Good communication skills
A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Experience in a nursery in the UK
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver a diverse range of activities and experiences that cater to the individual needs and interests of each child.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Support children’s learning and development through structured play, group activities, and one-on-one interactions.
Maintain a safe and hygienic learning environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines and school policies.
Monitor and assess children’s progress, providing feedback and support to promote continuous improvement.
Contribute to the planning and evaluation of the Early Years curriculum, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
