Job Description

Position: Flexible Teaching Assistant

Hourly Rate: £12.82

Location: Bournemouth

Start Date: Immediate start possible

Working Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

GSL Education are supporting local schools in the Bournemouth and Christchurch area by recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants. There is a need for Teaching Assistants who are willing to be flexible and provide cover where schools need the support. For this role, it is beneficial to have experience working in a school or other childcare setting, and any experience working with SEN/ additional needs would be useful too.

Perhaps you have been a teaching assistant in a primary school before, but you are looking for a similar role that offers you a bit more flexibility, then this could be the perfect role for you.

Although the schools are mainstream primary, you may still be supporting students with Special Education Needs on a 1:1 or small group basis. Therefore, any previous experience or knowledge of SEN is beneficial.

The school provides a healthy work-life balance and has a supportive staff community. The position is open for candidates who are looking for some flexible supply work, but also can be a permanent position if proven efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will actively participate in classroom activities, collaborating with teachers to provide support for the pupils, including supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

• Your primary focus will be on providing personalised support to pupils, reinforcing concepts, and providing consistent care throughout the school day.

• You will play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and you will be actively promoting positive behaviour using the schools behaviour policy and strategies.

• Contribute to the organisation and preparation of teaching resources, ensuring that the classroom is well-equipped to facilitate effective learning.

If you believe that you have the relevant experience, skills and personality for this role, then please do apply with your CV and we will be in touch with the next steps!

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you should:

• Have the right to work in the UK.

• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.

• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education

Here at GSL Education, we offer competitive pay rates, bespoke service, and dedicated Consultants who will support you in securing your new role. Whether you are at the start of your career or are looking for a more manageable work-life balance, rest assured we are here for you. As experienced Education Recruiters, we have helped hundreds of Candidates gain the relevant experience and training required to become Specialist Support Staff, Newly Qualified Teachers, Fully Qualified Teachers, Education Psychologists, and even gain Senior Leadership appointments.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.

For more information about any of the positions mentioned above, please contact Susie Beveridge at GSL Education as soon as possible. To work with GSL Education on the role, please apply via the application link or visit (url removed) to apply online
