Health And Safety Technician in New Bilton - CV-Library

Orbital Recruitment are currently looking for a Health and Safety Technician for our client based in Rugby, Warwickshire.

In this “hands on role”, you will work alongside an experienced Health and Safety Manager, integral to the Operations and Health and Safety support function. You will help promote leading health, safety and wellbeing standards in accordance with legislation, client requirements and industry good practice, with the aim of minimising the potential for injury, while developing your personal and professional skills as part of a structured learning programme.

For this position, the right attitude and communication skills are more important than formal health and safety qualifications, as necessary training and support comes with the role; however, some operational experience will be an advantage.

Duties:

On Site Interaction

* Regular site tours, interacting and coaching teams to promote health and safety, understanding day to day challenges, offering advice, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing feedback.

* Supporting the roll out and evaluating the effectiveness of health and safety programmes and initiatives.

* Identifying and selecting appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and health and safety related equipment for different job tasks.

Collaboration & Communication

* Collaborating with management, employees, contractors and playing an active role in Health and Safety Committees and other working groups.

* Preparing guidance and promotional health, safety and wellbeing campaigns and materials.

Training

* Preparing “toolbox talks”.

* Delivering face-to-face briefings and training.

Compliance Monitoring

* Scheduling and carrying out a range of audits and inspections to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and health and safety standards.

* Analysing audit findings and corrective actions to identify trends and monitor progress.

Incident Response and Investigation

* Participating in investigation teams to support operations reviewing incidents, helping identify appropriate remedial actions and sharing learning opportunities.

* Support continuing development of emergency response procedures and the coordination of emergency drills.

Data Collection and Analysis

* Analysing and presenting health and safety information and trends.

Recommending improvements based on data insights.

Experience Needed/ About You:

* Full UK driving licence essential

* Maths and English GCSE

* Knowledge of Word and Excel programmes

* Effective communicator

* Ideally 2-3 years in an operational role

Pay/ Salary:

* Up to £40,000 per annum dependant on experience

Hours & Contract Type:
