Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an NPD Assistant to join a well-established family firm that produces over 19 million high-quality sandwiches, wraps, rolls and salads each year. Along with a salary of up to £26,000 per annum, you will also receive extensive and comprehensive training.
Since 1988, they have grown from a small, local operator, into a £25m+ turnover national supplier and are looking for someone to support the product development process. You will support the functions of the department with a focus on working closely with the NPD Manager, assisting in the smooth introduction of new and modified existing products developed for the range and external clients.
Please note, this position is available as full or part-time.
As NPD Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the NPD manager on all new and existing product development projects Produce product samples
Supporting for implementing factory trials and other tasks to achieve on time & efficient launches
Accurately completing all documentation associated with NPD and EPD process
Receipt completion within the company system
Liaising with other departments before, during and after product launches.
Updating or creating all the relevant documents to support NPD/EPD launches (i.e., variety changeover sheet, QAS, mass production QS)
Identifying opportunities for improvement of processes and products
Producing sales analysis, trending and report data coordination and communicating with new & current suppliers in obtaining any related information
Were looking for an NPD Assistant with the following:
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Pro-active approach to problem solving, ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to multi-task across a number of projects and prioritise work accordingly.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and attention to detail
Enthusiasm and passion for food products
Analytical, technical, and creative skills
Understanding of Food Safety, quality and development
Experience from a food manufacturingenvironmentwould be an advantage
Strong IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and PowerPoint
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
