Strategic Land Manager:
The company is a proud family builder with the 4th generation taking a leading role in the business. Beginning in 1930 as a joinery and woodworking contractor, but with over nine decades of success behind them, now operating three divisions. Location: Ewloe Head Office, North Wales
Hours: 8:30am-5:15pm (Mon-Thurs) 8.30am- 4.00pm (Fri)
Salary: Competitive Salary
Scope: The company are looking to recruit a Strategic Land Manager to work from their Ewloe office reporting directly to the Strategic Land & Planning Director. You will work in a team that is responsible for identifying, negotiating and acquiring land suitable for future residential development and longer term Strategic land.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Strong knowledge of the residential market with a growing individual network of contacts within the industry. This will be required in order to maintain and expand the company's contact base with various land owners, agents and local authorities;
· Understanding constraints and opportunities commercially and technically with regard to land interests;
· Be able to support and assist with formulation and management of offers, co-ordination of investigations, negotiation with local authorities, agents, solicitors and third parties;
· Understand and negotiate both promotion and option agreements;
· Procure technical, legal and development information to liaise and instruct internal and external parties to appraise site opportunities and constraints;
· Working to resolve title and contractual issues on land;
· Liaison with landowners and agents over progress on site promotion to establish positive relationships;
· Technical ability and a good understanding of the planning process and planning system;
· Ability to manage external consultants for the submission of planning applications and appeals if required;
· An experience networker, and willingness to travel to events;
· Engage in negotiations with officers, local community groups and other stakeholders at both pre-application and post-application submission stages, including attendance at meetings where necessary.
The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
· Member of an accredited organisation within the built environment i.e. RTPI/MRICS; but not essential for the right individual with experience;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Excellent organisational skills;
· Interpersonal skills;
· Time management in order to meet deadlines;
· Attention to detail;
· Excellent numerical skills;
· Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload;
· Excellent negotiation and networking skills. Able to work under pressure.
