Specialist Technical Services UK Ltd is headquartered in the UK in Staines-Upon-Thames and has projects mainly throughout the Greater London area and the South East of England.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Legal compliance of the company and projects in your jurisdiction.

• Manage and maintain 45001 & 14001 ISO certifications for the company in your jurisdiction

• Manage the HSE team members in your jurisdiction.

• Adherence to the STS HSEQ Management system

• Adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety related statutory provisions & legislation.

• Ensuring all projects are working to the HSE plans & associated documents & systems.

• Where required development of project specific HSE documents in conjunction with the project management teams.

• Coordination of project HSE indicators. Ensuring Monthly KPI report to the Group representative.

• Carry out regular site HSE audits and inspection, document results and follow up on any corrective actions.

• Assist or carry out accident/incident/near-miss investigation reports in a timely manner & ensure communication to project and group management.

• Ensure Environmental, Sustainability, Waste reduction & recycling programmes are maintained in line with company policies & procedures.

• Liaison with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety & quality issues.

• Ensure that best practices in HSE are promoted & maintained at all times.

• Ensure records of statutory inspections are available for project activities.

• Adopt a Proactive approach to project HSE requirements. January 2024

• Ensure the project supply chain are prequalified, monitored & adhere to project HSE policies & procedures.

• Ensure that STS site induction & training is coordinated, managed & maintained.

• Project PPE is resourced & available.

• Ensure HSE meetings are organised and minutes are retained.

• Liaise with relevant third parties such as Clients & Health & Safety Executive etc

Selection Criteria / Person Specification:

Essential

• Proficient in English both written & spoken.

• Relevant third level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.

• 5+ year's experience of managing HSE within a company or on construction sites.

• Thorough knowledge of current HSE related legislation & regulations for the UK.

• Ability to efficiently manage all HSE issues on the projects you have responsibility for.

• Strong computer skills required.

• Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills to lead a team.

Desirable

• Electrical or Engineering background or have worked for M&E companies.

• ISO and Auditing experience

• Previous experience of working on Pharmaceutical or mission critical projects such as data centres.

Remuneration

• Excellent package on offer for the right person in line with qualifications and experience. Salary range approximately £70,000 to 75,000 per year.
