Teaching Assistant in London - Prospero Teaching

Tottenham, London Borough of Haringey | £100-115 per day, depending on relevant experience

Full-time, long-term temporary; Monday to Friday, term time

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant in Tottenham, Haringey, to support secondary pupils with additional learning needs. You will help pupils follow instructions, organise their work and take part in lessons across the curriculum. The role is well suited to someone who can explain tasks clearly while protecting pupils' confidence and encouraging independence.

• Provide classroom support for pupils with autism, ADHD or literacy difficulties.
• Use checklists, visual prompts and writing frames agreed with the teacher.
• Help pupils organise equipment, record homework and manage lesson transitions.
• Support small-group activities that reinforce literacy and study skills.
• Feed back on progress, participation and barriers to learning to teaching staff.

• Previous UK secondary teaching assistant or learning support experience.
• Experience supporting SEND and adapting the way tasks are explained.
• Good literacy and numeracy, with a calm and respectful approach to pupils.

Experience supporting EHCP outcomes, dyslexia strategies or exam access arrangements under school direction would be useful.

This role offers a mix of academic and practical support for pupils developing the skills they need to manage secondary school more independently.
