Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant - Redbridge

Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Until July 2027, with the potential to become permanent
Pay: £93-£120 per day

Do you enjoy helping little learners explore, communicate and reach those exciting early milestones?

Academics are recruiting an enthusiastic Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant in Redbridge to support young children who need additional help with their development and early learning.

The early years are such an important stage in a child's journey. With the right encouragement, everyday activities can become opportunities to build communication, confidence, independence and social skills. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach and understands the importance of making learning engaging, accessible and fun.

Helping little learners take big steps

You'll support children as they explore their surroundings, take part in nursery or classroom activities and develop the skills they need for their next stage of learning.

Working alongside the class teacher and other support staff, you'll help create a welcoming environment where children feel safe to try new things, interact with others and celebrate their achievements.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting children with additional needs during daily Early Years activities.
  • Encouraging communication, language development and interaction with peers.
  • Helping children develop independence with routines and everyday tasks.
  • Using play-based activities to support learning and development.
  • Providing reassurance and adapting activities to individual abilities.
  • Helping children participate in group activities and prepare for their next steps.
  • Working closely with staff to monitor progress and maintain consistent support.

Could this be the role for you?

We're looking for someone warm, patient and proactive who enjoys working with young children. Experience in an Early Years, nursery or SEN setting would be particularly useful.

You'll be observant, creative and ready to adapt your approach to meet each child's needs. Above all, you'll want every child to feel included and have the opportunity to flourish.

The benefits

  • £93-£120 per day, depending on experience.
  • ASAP start until July 2027.
  • Potential to secure a permanent position afterwards.
  • Experience supporting children's early development and additional needs.
  • The opportunity to make a positive difference during a crucial stage of learning.

If you're passionate about Early Years and want to help children build strong foundations for the future, we'd love to hear from you!

Apply today to find out more.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
