SEN Teaching Assistant - KS1 - 1:1 Support

Location: Eastbourne
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, with potential for a permanent position
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Academics are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Eastbourne, providing 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with additional needs
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Support their learning, development and engagement in the classroom
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support
• Help promote the pupil's confidence, independence and wellbeing
• Adapt support to meet the individual needs of the child

• At least 6 months' experience supporting SEN pupils within a UK school setting - essential
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
• A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
• Confident supporting children on a 1:1 basis
• Strong understanding of the needs of children with SEN
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
