Integration Architect - Kafka


Rate - £550 - £600 Inside IR35 (Total to umbrella)
Duration - 6 months initial
Location - Central London on site 4 times a week


Role Details:

We're supporting a major transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Integration Architect with strong Kafka expertise to lead the design and delivery of large scale integration solutions.

You'll be responsible for defining integration strategy, shaping end to end solutions and working closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient and event driven architectures.

The successful candidate will combine strong architectural capability with the ability to get into the detail when required. This is not a purely governance focused role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver enterprise integration solutions across complex technology estates.
  • Define event driven architecture patterns and best practice.
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of Apache Kafka platforms.
  • Produce high quality architecture artefacts and technical designs.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to support delivery and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions.
  • Drive integration standards, governance and architectural direction across programmes.


Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience operating as an Integration Architect within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands on experience with Apache Kafka.
  • Deep understanding of event driven and message based architectures.
  • Experience designing high-volume, real-time integration solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Experience across cloud environment (AWS).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
