New Vacancy - Senior Claims Adjuster - US Marine & Energy Liability

I am currently partnered with a Syndicate business who are seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to join their growing team.

This role will be adjusting complex US Marine & Energy Liability Claims from first notice to settlement, including a broad range of risks. This is from both primary/excess layers, but predominately lead business.

My client is looking for someone with extensive US Marine & Energy Liability Claims Adjusting experience from a lead view, competent with ECF and Lloyd's Claims Schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for Marine & Energy claims, ensuring accurate and timely reserving, payments and claims resolution. Significant experience handling complex global Marine and Energy losses is essential.
  • Assume responsibility for decision-making on the largest, most complex and strategically significant claims within the Marine & Energy portfolio.
  • Exercise a high level of claims authority, while overseeing and governing delegated reserving, payment and settlement authority granted to junior claims professionals and external claims service providers.
  • Act as the recognised technical authority for Marine & Energy claims, delivering expert guidance, thought leadership and technical training to ensure claims teams remain current with industry developments, market practices and emerging trends.
  • Develop and maintain best-in-class claims processes, procedures and documentation for Marine & Energy claims, ensuring robust quality assurance and audit oversight.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with underwriting and product leadership teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment on matters critical to portfolio performance and claims strategy.
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of claims trends, working closely with underwriting, actuarial and product teams to identify lessons learned, support reserving decisions and drive continuous improvement across the business.
  • Promote a culture of claims excellence, innovation and superior service delivery, enhancing the organisation's reputation in the market.
  • Ensure all claims activities are conducted within applicable regulatory, governance and risk management frameworks, maintaining compliance with internal policies, controls, audit requirements and delegated authorities.
