Finance Assistant - Purchase Ledger Clerk


About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support a busy finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and collaborating across teams.

You'll play a key role in ensuring financial processes run smoothly, maintaining accuracy, and delivering excellent service to stakeholders and suppliers - particularly across complex Accounts Payable (AP) processes and multi-currency transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process supplier invoices (PO and non-PO) accurately and in a timely manner
  • Investigate and resolve complex AP queries, liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage multi-currency transactions, ensuring correct treatment of exchange rates and accurate postings
  • Support supplier statement reconciliations and highlight discrepancies
  • Manage company credit card transactions and ensure compliance with policies
  • Act as first-line support for expense system queries (including user setup and guidance)
  • Process supplier payments, direct debits, and receipts
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • Handle finance-related queries and escalate where necessary
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all data input and financial records
