Are you an experienced support worker looking to move into education and use your skills in a structured, rewarding environment?

We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across specialist SEN and SEMH schools in Gloucester (GL1, GL2 and GL19). These are long-term, full-time roles supporting children and young people with additional needs, offering a clear pathway into education with ongoing training and career development.

Your experience supporting individuals with complex needs, behavioural challenges or mental health will be highly valued in these settings.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to feel settled, safe and engaged in school.

Pupils you support may have:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Autism (ASC), ADHD or communication needs
  • Anxiety, attachment needs or behavioural challenges
  • Additional learning or sensory needs

Some pupils may present behaviours that challenge, so confidence, consistency and a calm, professional approach are essential.
