Bookkeeper

Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 (depending on experience)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy practice who are looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper / Management Accounts Assistant to support their growing client portfolio.

This role would suit a well-rounded bookkeeping professional with strong VAT and CIS experience who is comfortable producing management accounts and working directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing bookkeeping services for a portfolio of clients

• Preparation and submission of VAT returns across various schemes

• Preparation and submission of CIS returns

• Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts

• Bank reconciliations and control accounts

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records

• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain financial information

• Working with cloud-based accounting software

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice

• Strong knowledge of VAT and CIS

• Experience preparing management accounts

• Confident using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage

• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

• Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client service

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience preferred, but not essential
