Primary Teaching Assistant – Burton

Zest Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and forward-thinking school in Burton. The school fosters an inclusive, community-focused environment and consistently promotes curiosity, confidence and independence throughout all year groups.

About the Role

In this role, you will actively support teaching and learning across the primary phase. You will:

  • Work closely with class teachers to support the delivery of engaging lessons and activities
  • Support pupils with reading, writing and maths at various ability levels
  • Create and maintain a safe, stimulating and supportive classroom environment
  • Provide focused 1:1 and small-group interventions when needed
  • Encourage pupils’ social, emotional and academic growth

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally you will have a Level 3 qualification, or equivalent, in Supporting Teaching and Learning. Additionally, you should have experience working with children in a school or similar setting. You will also bring:

  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • A patient, positive and proactive attitude
  • Effective behaviour-management strategies
  • The ability to collaborate well with teachers and support staff
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working across different age groups
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child development

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
