Job Description

Our client is a Top 40 UK accountancy firm with a strong national presence and an established Bristol office. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Practice Manager/ Senior Accountant to support the Directors in the day-to-day running of the practice.


The Role


This is a hands-on leadership role - not just a senior accountant position.


You will:


• Mentor and supervise the team

• Manage workflow across accounts, bookkeeping and tax

• Review and prepare statutory accounts

• Oversee VAT and bookkeeping

• Support corporation tax and basic personal tax

• Attend client meetings and handle advisory queries

• Assist with new business and growth initiatives

• Step in operationally when required

The role requires a strong on-site presence in Bristol.


What We’re Looking For


• ACA or ACCA qualified

• Strong UK practice experience

• Strong statutory accounts and VAT knowledge

• Experience supervising staff

• Commercial awareness (WIP, billing, profitability)

• Confident and professional with clients

This role suits someone who wants genuine responsibility and a clear route to Practice Manager.
