This is an excellent opportunity for an Interim Accounts Payable (AP) professional to contribute to the success of a leading organisation in the Transport & Distribution industry. The role is based in Manchester and requires expertise in accounting and finance.

Description

• Reviewing weekly activity and validating that work completed has been correctly logged
• Checking supplier activity against internal systems and operational records
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies or payment queries
• Raising and processing purchase orders and ensuring they are correctly recorded in the system
• Updating supplier information, rates and activity data
• Working closely with operations teams to confirm activity and payment structures
• Communicating regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues

Profile

We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

Ideal experience includes:

• Accounts Payable, payments administration, or finance operations experience
• AAT studies or similar accounting knowledge (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail with a "numbers mindset"
• Confident communicator able to interact with suppliers and internal teams
• Comfortable working with systems and reconciling activity/payment data
• Able to work independently and manage tasks in a busy operational environment
• Candidates who have worked in fast-paced businesses such as retail, logistics, or high-volume finance environments often perform well in this type of role.

Job Offer

• Hourly rate between GBP 15.00 and GBP 19.00, depending on experience.
