Job Title: Maintenance Support

Location: Canterbury(close to), Kent

Hours of Work: As per contract

Hourly Rate: £12.90 (Overtime available at a higher rate)

Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor / Head of Maintenance

Role Overview:

The Maintenance Support role is crucial to the seamless operation of all machinery and equipment across the facility. As the backbone of our maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime. You’ll be responsible for keeping machines running at peak performance, ensuring smooth operations across all areas. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your contributions are valued and essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain machinery efficiently and in a hygienic manner.
  • Follow scheduled preventative maintenance and perform necessary repairs.
  • Manage tooling changes effectively across the facility.
  • Carry out routine servicing and cleaning of machines and tools.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor or engineering team.
  • Complete and submit the end-of-day maintenance log.
  • Accurately log and document parts taken from stock.
  • Keep the workshop organized and clean.
  • Additional tasks may arise as the business evolves.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Timely Breakdown & Downtime Reports to identify and resolve issues swiftly
  • Proactive feedback from Managers and Team Leaders on maintenance efficiency and machine performance
  • Clear before-and-after documentation (photos) to track repair and maintenance quality
  • Comprehensive and accurate Maintenance Logs to ensure all work is fully recorded
  • Detailed Parts Log to ensure proper inventory management and traceability
  • Consistent performance during Internal & External Audits to ensure compliance with maintenance standards

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in English
  • Solid understanding of Maths

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a production or manufacturing environment
