Private Client Tax Director

London | Permanent | Hybrid working

A well-established and highly regarded accountancy and tax practice is looking to recruit a Private Client Tax Director to join its growing Private Client team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client tax professional to step into a senior leadership role, with a clear and supported pathway to Partner for the right individual.

The role

You will work closely with Partners to deliver high-quality private client tax advisory services to a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, family offices and trusts. You’ll play a key role in leading advisory work, managing client relationships, and contributing to the strategic growth of the private client offering, while positioning yourself for future Partner progression.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering bespoke private client tax advisory work, including succession planning, inheritance tax planning, residency and domicile advice, and trust planning
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to key clients and managing long-term client relationships
  • Identifying and developing new advisory opportunities and contributing to business development initiatives
  • Reviewing complex tax work and providing technical oversight across the team
  • Supporting Partners on strategic planning and growth of the Private Client practice
  • Mentoring and developing Managers and Assistant Managers, helping to build a strong pipeline of future talent

About you

You will be a senior private client tax professional with strong advisory credentials and the ability to operate confidently at Director level. You’ll combine technical excellence with commercial awareness and a collaborative leadership style, and you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to progress to Partner.

You are likely to have:

  • CTA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in private client tax advisory
  • A strong track record of managing high-net-worth and complex private clients
  • Experience supporting business development and practice growth
  • A clear ambition to progress to Partner

Why apply?

The firm offers a genuinely supportive, people-first culture with a strong focus on long-term career development. You’ll join a collaborative leadership team that actively invests in succession planning and provides a transparent, achievable route to Partner.

Alongside technically challenging and high-profile work, the role offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous holiday entitlement, the option to purchase additional leave, private medical and dental cover, life assurance, pension arrangements, enhanced family leave, and a range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits.
