Project Quality Engineer - Wolverhampton
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer to join a well-established and highly regulated engineering business.
This is a key position within the Quality function, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering projects to exacting quality, safety, and compliance standards.
You will be instrumental in supporting the business vision of developing an industry-leading QA and QC capability, driving continuous improvement, productivity, and a strong EHS culture across projects and operations.
Shifts:
Monday to Friday, standard office hours
Salary:
£38,000 - £42,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Day-to-day duties:
As a Project Quality Engineer, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
• Supporting tendering activities from a quality perspective
• Leading and supporting project kick-off meetings
• Reviewing client specifications and contractual quality requirements
• Producing and maintaining Project Quality Plans
• Reviewing, approving, and managing Manufacturing Inspection and Test Plans (MITPs)
• Flowing down client quality requirements to internal functions and suppliers
• Producing and approving contract-specific quality procedures
• Providing quality support to internal project and client meetings
• Producing project quality reports and performance updates
• Managing client non-conformances and supporting resolution activities
• Supporting internal and external audit activities
• Attending and supporting supplier kick-off meetings
• Managing the closeout of operational non-conformance reports
• Supporting the despatch and release process
• Reviewing and approving supplier MITPs and procedures
• Carrying out supplier surveillance and quality oversight
• Managing supply chain quality activities
• Compiling, approving, and releasing customer lifetime quality records
• Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Essential skills:
To be successful as a Project Quality Engineer, you will need:
• Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a highly regulated industry
• Experience delivering projects in line with contractual specifications and business processes
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 3834, and EN 1090
• Lead or Internal Auditor qualification in ISO 9001
• Experience generating and managing NCRs
• Experience working to Quality Control Grading
• Strong practical problem-solving skills with the ability to lead improvement activities
• Experience in process improvement methodologies
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desirable experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance or a related discipline
• Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Management background
• Six Sigma or structured problem-solving training (8D, 5S, 7W, etc.)
• Engineering qualification
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CQI) or willingness to attain
• Ability to obtain BPSS and SC clearance is a conditional requirement of this role

Industry-related training and ongoing support will be provided, including support for professional development and accreditation.
