Deputy Manager – Residential & Nursing Home


Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our leadership team and work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the highest standards of care and wellbeing for our residents. This is a hands-on role combining leadership, operational management, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of residents and staff alike.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the home.
  • Lead, motivate, and support the care team to deliver safe, person-centred care
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CQC standards
  • Oversee resident care plans, assessments, and admissions to maintain individualised care
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of health, safety, and wellbeing across the home
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
  • Assist with staff rostering, resource management, and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and home-wide projects
  • Act as a visible, approachable leader within the home, supporting both staff and residents


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within a residential or nursing home environment
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practice care standards
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with care planning, risk assessment, and operational oversight
  • Ability to inspire staff, foster a positive culture, and promote resident-centred care
  • Empathy, integrity, and commitment to improving the lives of older adults
