Job Description

A leading UK asset owner is seeking an Associate (Public Markets) to join its Investment Division. This organisation is recognised for its innovative approach to responsible investment, dynamic asset allocation, and broad multistrategy portfolio spanning hedge funds, credit, fixed income and listed equities.

This role offers outstanding exposure across public markets, with the Associate taking significant ownership over data, analytics, portfolio monitoring, and manager research. It is designed for someone highly analytical, intellectually curious and motivated to develop deep expertise across several liquid asset classes.

The role

The Associate will support senior investors across the full public-markets portfolio, with responsibilities including:

  • Portfolio monitoring and performance analysis across managers and strategies
  • Multi-lens risk analysis (market, macro, factor, and portfolio-level risk)
  • Manager research and due diligence, including participation in meetings and fund reviews
  • Data ownership, analytics, and production of investment materials for internal decision-making
  • Supporting capital allocation decisions across public market strategies
  • Close collaboration with investment strategy, private markets, and responsible investment teams
The ideal candidate
  • 2–4 years’ experience in asset management, a pension fund, endowment, or investment consultancy
  • Strong understanding of public markets (equities, fixed income, and/or absolute return)
  • Experience working with investment data, performance analysis, and risk frameworks
  • Intellectual curiosity and confidence to challenge and contribute in investment discussions
  • Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication skills

Progress toward CFA and/or CAIA is viewed positively.

Due to the volume of applications we receive, we may only be able to respond to those who meet the listed criteria.

At our company, we prioritise equity throughout the recruitment process. We are committed to fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates. If there’s anything we can do to make the process more accessible to you, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
