Job Description

Opportunity knocks within this highly successful Big 4 Deal Advisory Tax practice, who are currently looking to recruit at Manager, Senior Manager and potentially also Director level to meet the demand and influx of work from clients.

You will need to be a qualified tax specialist (ACA, CTA or equivalent) with prior experience advising on the complex tax issues involved in M&A transactions. One of the most profitable teams within the UK business, they are growing year on year and taking market share which in turn is leading to progression and promotion opportunities.

Unlike some of their competitors' teams, roles can be tailored to the individual whether they are looking for exposure to a broader spectrum of deals across Financial Services, Private Equity and Credit, Infrastructure, Corporate, Real Estate etc, and/or size of clients (from SME to large corporate), or to pursue a specialism. Similarly, with the Deal Advisory team sitting within the wider international tax practice, roles do not have to be singularly focused on deals and so you may opt to pursue a hybrid deals and international tax structuring role.

Roles can be based out of London or any one of the main regional hubs (Reading, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh or Glasgow).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior members of the team on complex transactions
  • Support in the pursuit of new opportunities, working on proposals and joining pitches
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Preparing technical advice covering a range of UK and international tax issues
  • Performing detailed analysis of tax related documents, highlighting key issues and articulating the commercial impact of these to the client
  • Collaborating with other UK and overseas tax specialists, critically analysing and challenging their input
  • Demonstrating up-to-date tax technical knowledge in respect of key UK and OECD developments
  • Understanding financial models from a tax perspective
You will need to be appropriately qualified with a strong background and interest in working on transactions. You will need to have strong technical UK corporate tax knowledge combined with excellent communication, analytical and project management skills.
