Accounts Assistant in London - Fame Recruitment Consultants Ltd

Our client is a leading wholesale diamond business located in Central London who are recruiting for a proactive Accounts Assistant to support the Head of Finance across day-to-day accounting operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established jewellery business and gain hands-on exposure to all areas of finance, including the chance to get involved in management accounts and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing customer invoices accurately and on time
• Allocating customer payments
• Assisting with credit control, including monitoring overdue accounts and issuing reminders
• Responding to customer accounting queries
• Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Preparing payment runs
• Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Reconciling the purchase ledger and ensuring accuracy across accounts
• Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
• Handling general finance and accounting queries

Skills & Experience Required

• AAT (part/fully qualified) - desirable
• Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role
• Strong numerical and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues, customers and suppliers
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
