Secondary Teaching Assistants Needed Across Liverpool

With rising demand for personalised student support in 2026, our secondary schools are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to help bridge the gap. As class sizes grow and student needs become more diverse, your role as a Teaching Assistant has never been more vital.

We are looking for people who can inspire teenagers, manage classroom energy, and ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed during their most formative years.

We have day to day and long term roles according to your preferences.
Pay: £13.68 - £14.00 per hour.

Where You'll Be Working:

We have immediate vacancies in high schools across every district of Liverpool. We aim to place you in a school that fits your commute:

  • North Liverpool: L4 (Anfield), L5, L9 (Fazakerley), L20 (Bootle), L30.
  • South Liverpool: L15 (Wavertree), L17 (Aigburth), L18 (Allerton), L19 (Garston), L24/25.
  • East & City: L11 (Norris Green), L12 (West Derby), L14 (Huyton), L1, L7, L8.

Your Duties:

  • Supporting students in key subjects like English, Maths, and Science.
  • Working with small groups to help them prepare for exams and assessments.
  • Providing one-on-one support for students with additional learning needs.
  • Helping students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and keeping students focused in the classroom.
  • Acting as a role model and providing pastoral support to improve student well being.
  • Assisting the teacher with classroom management and lesson preparation.

Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Communication: The ability to connect with and motivate teenagers.
  • Resilience: A calm approach to managing challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge: A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • Adaptability: Comfortable moving between different subjects throughout the school day.
  • Experience: Previous experience with youth groups, coaching, or school work is highly valued.
