Primary School Teaching Assistant - KS1
Location: Islington
School Type: 2 Form Entry Primary School
Contract: Temporary (January 2026 - July 2026)

Tradewind Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive 2 form entry primary school in Islington to recruit a Primary School Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 1.

This is a general classroom-based Teaching Assistant role, supporting pupils and teachers across KS1. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to create a positive learning environment and supporting pupils' academic and social development.

The Role:
  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities

  • Working with small groups and individual pupils as required

  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

  • Supporting pupils' learning, behaviour and engagement

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has at least 6 months' experience working in a primary school setting

  • Experience supporting pupils in KS1 is desirable

  • Is proactive, patient and enthusiastic about supporting young learners

  • Can work effectively as part of a team

  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
