Semi Senior Accountant in Cheam - AJ Chambers

Salary – £30,000–£36,000 (depending on experience and study progress)

Workplace Type – Office based (with occasional travel to Surbiton if required)

Role Summary

You will work closely with Senior Accountants and Client Managers, supporting the delivery of accounts and tax work across a varied client base while continuing your professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts
• Prepare VAT returns and submissions
• Assist with corporation tax computations and returns
• Maintain accurate client records and working papers
• Use CCH and other accounting software to complete work efficiently
• Liaise with clients regarding routine queries and information requests
• Support Senior Accountants and Client Managers with ad hoc work
• Ensure work is completed within agreed deadlines

Desirable Experience

• Studying towards ACCA, ACA or AAT (or equivalent)
• Approximately 2–4 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Exposure to statutory accounts and VAT
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Confident communicator with a professional approach
• Keen to learn and progress within the firm
