I’m working with a well-established, growing firm of Chartered Accountants that’s looking to appoint an Audit Manager. It’s a role with real influence, variety, and long-term progression including the potential to discuss a route to Partner in due course.

The Role - Reporting directly to the Audit Partner
- c.90% audit, with some accounts preparation
- Managing, leading and mentoring the audit team
- Hands-on involvement — ideal for someone who enjoys both leading and “doing”
- Planning audits, meeting clients, and overseeing day-to-day delivery
- Supporting grant audits (e.g., automotive grant-funded projects)
- Travel to some client sites (not all audits are remote)
The firm’s audit portfolio is varied and interesting — around 28 audits up to c.£80m turnover, including:
- Subsidiaries of US groups
- Tech, software and manufacturing
- Food production (including vegan)
- Construction-related businesses
- Recycling and automotive groups
About You - ACA or ACCA qualified with strong audit experience
- Public Practice background
- Comfortable managing audits from planning through to completion
- Able to mentor staff and support development
- Basic tax knowledge
- Experience with Mercia audit software helpful (but training can be given)
