SUCCESSION PLANNING OPPORTUNITY

I'm working with an established independent firm in Northamptonshire that’s looking to recruit a hands-on accountant with a mix of audit, accounts, and tax experience.

This isn’t a box-ticking role. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys variety, wants to be genuinely valued, and is ready to take on responsibility across a broad client base.

While audit work is part of the role, it’s limited to around 2 months of the year (spread out). The majority of your time will focus on accounts preparation, tax compliance, and supporting clients directly — alongside mentoring junior staff and reviewing work.

The real selling point? There’s a longer-term opportunity here. Over the next few years, the firm will be planning ahead for succession — so if you’re someone who’d like to grow into a senior leadership role (or beyond), this could offer a clear pathway.

Ideal Profile:

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or finalist/QBE)
• Solid UK practice background and must have audit experience
• Able to manage your own portfolio and review junior work
• Happy to roll up your sleeves in a small, collaborative team

Salary is likely in the £40–50K range depending on experience, with flexibility for the right person.
