Job Description

Client Manager – Northampton | c. £45,000 – £50,000

We’re working with a highly regarded independent firm of accountants in Northampton that’s planning ahead for continued growth into 2026 and beyond.

They’re looking to appoint an experienced Client Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, oversee a small team, and play a hands-on role in the firm’s ongoing success.

The firm is known for its supportive culture, strong local reputation, and long-term approach to both client and staff relationships. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys responsibility, client interaction, and variety in their work.

The Role
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Reviewing and preparing accounts, tax returns and VAT submissions across a range of sectors.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser, offering commercial insight and practical guidance.
  • Supporting clients with business planning, forecasting, and growth decisions.
  • Reviewing and mentoring junior team members, helping to develop their technical and professional skills.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and business development within your client base and across the firm.
About You
  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience) with a solid background in accountancy practice.
  • Confident managing client relationships and comfortable leading multiple projects at once.
  • Technically strong in accounts and tax, with good attention to detail.
  • Organised, approachable, and proactive in supporting clients and colleagues.
Why This Role?
  • Salary in the region of £45,000 – £50,000, depending on experience.
  • Supportive environment with genuine work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to take on responsibility and autonomy within a collaborative team.
  • Clear scope for progression as the firm continues to grow and plan for the future.

The firm is recruiting ahead, with a view to appointing the right person over the next few months — ideally ready to join in early 2026, though those available sooner are equally encouraged to apply.

If you’re an experienced Client Manager or Senior Accountant looking for your next step, we’d love to hear from you.
