Financial Reporting Manager in Solihull - Gleeson Recruitment Group

Our client, a fast-growing multi-site business, is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to support their finance function. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant who can deliver high-quality reporting, manage complex accounting areas, and drive improvements.

Role Overview

• Ownership of goodwill accounting, including calculations, postings and reconciliations.

• Support acquisition accounting activities, including hive-ups.

• Prepare adjustments between US GAAP and FRS 102 and maintain clear technical documentation.

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, offering guidance to junior team members.

• Provide technical accounting support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

• Support internal controls, governance, and process improvement initiatives.

• Assist with automation projects and respond to external audit queries.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (minimum 5 years PQE).

• Strong experience in technical accounting within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

• Proven ability to resolve complex financial issues and deliver reporting to tight deadlines.

• High-quality balance sheet reconciliation experience.

• Excellent communication skills, able to summarise complex information for non-financial stakeholders.

• Strong IT skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Desirable: US GAAP knowledge; experience in retail, medical, or other specialist sectors.
