Technical Buyer – Sheffield/Hybrid – Competitive Salary & Benefits

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working with a highly successful global engineering business in Sheffield who are looking to recruit a Technical Buyer to join their team.

Hours of work – 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Technical Buyer Duties::

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with business goals, informed by market analysis and future trends to create competitive advantage
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving performance, resolving issues, and leveraging supplier innovation
• Source, evaluate and select suppliers using cost, quality, delivery and risk criteria, ensuring timely processes and effective negotiations
• Manage purchase orders and oversee total cost of ownership to optimise commercial outcomes
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Expediting and Supplier Quality teams to align supplier selection, product development and customer requirements
• Provide guidance to Assistant Buyers and translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable expectations for suppliers

The Person

• Previous experience within a technical manufacturing or engineering environment
• Proven commercial capability, including skilled negotiation and effective problem-solving to resolve supply issues and secure best outcomes
• SAP (Desirable)
