This is a full-time position working closely with a single student who displays significant and highly challenging behaviours, requiring a calm, confident, and skilled practitioner who can provide consistency, stability, and tailored support throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will work alongside the school's SENCO, pastoral team, and classroom teachers to implement behaviour support strategies, de-escalate challenging situations, and promote positive engagement in learning. Your ability to build trusting relationships, remain patient under pressure, and use proactive behaviour-management techniques will be essential.

Essential Requirements

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour regulation, and SEND practices within a Secondary environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals.

Highly Desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils within a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) or Alternative Provision.

  • A proven track record of working with students who exhibit severe SEMH needs or complex behavioural challenges.

The School Offers
  • Supportive senior leaders and a dedicated pastoral team.

  • Ongoing guidance from specialist staff to help you succeed in your 1:1 role.

  • A rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a young person's progress and well-being.
