Management Accountant in Croydon - JMF Associates

An educational organisation with offices in South London is looking to hire an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or Part-Qualified Management Accountant who has previous experience using PS Financials or IRIS accounting software to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working in a friendly and supportive finance team, the Management Accountant will:

Duties of the Management Accountant Role:

• Monitoring the performance of  budgets, ensuring that expenditure limits are adhered to, and budgets are managed within agreed parameters
• Engaging in monthly/termly budget meetings and providing financial advice to budget holders and the Senior Leadership Team.
• Reporting any variances or potential issues to the CFO
• Regular monitoring and reporting of key financial metrics using established systems and processes, identifying material variances, and reporting to the CFO
• Assist the CFO in the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets
• Working alongside the Senior Finance Manager in the monthly close-down of the finance system. This will include the posting of accruals, deferred income, prepayments, and accrued income journals, as well as reconciling control accounts
• Lead the quarterly forecasting cycle and assist the CFO in the annual budget setting process
• Support the CFO with the cashflow forecasting and deficit recovery plans for the schools.

Requirements of the Management Accountant Role:

• ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
• Experience with PS Financials or IRIS software
• Experience working within the education sector
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to mentor staff
