Assistant Accountant in Cardiff - Focus Resourcing

Our client on the outskirts of Cardiff, an established and well respected organisation, is recruiting for a proactive Assistant Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.

You'll work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager to deliver accurate internal management accounts and statutory reports - ensuring we stay profitable, compliant, and ready for the next big move.

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic and self-motivated. You'll communicate well with people across all levels and bring a commercial mindset to your work. You'll be eager to learn and develop - and our client will support you every step of the way (including study support if you're working toward further qualifications).

What you'll be doing:

• Keeping accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and hardware stock schedules up to date for monthly accounts
• Owning project analysis and customer maintenance revenue schedules
• Preparing CIS retained tax calculations and reconciliations
• Managing Concur expense month-end processing and reporting
• Posting payroll-related journals and analysing key financial KPIs
• Supporting the year-end audit and assisting with any queries
• Pitching in to support team members when needed

What you'll bring:

• AAT qualified (or equivalent experience in a similar role)
• Confident with Excel and comfortable analysing and presenting data
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• A logical, proactive, and adaptable mindset - you enjoy improving processes
• Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is a plus, but not essential

Salary & Benefits:
