Management Accountant in Reading - Robert Walters

Location: Near Reading (office based c.2 days per week)
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000

Robert Walters are delighted to be partnering with a well-known organisation based just outside Reading to recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded Management Accountant to build on strong management reporting experience while developing advanced business partnering, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills in a dynamic and progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and circulate regular management accounts, linking financial and non-financial performance with insightful commentary.
• Track and analyse key financial and operational metrics to highlight performance trends and business drivers.
• Partner with budget holders to review results, identify opportunities for improvement or cost savings, and agree on action plans.
• Support non-financial managers in understanding financial results and the impact of business decisions.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process and rolling 2-year forecasts using robust financial analysis and modelling.
• Complete month-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain the integrity of financial data through effective master data management and regular data cleansing.
• Assist with external audits, ensuring queries are addressed promptly and accurately.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and enhance reporting quality.
• Lead or support ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.

Experience & Qualifications

• Qualified or Part-Qualified ACCA / CIMA (study support available for those part-qualified).
• Proven experience in management accounting, including month-end reporting and analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly.
• Experience using Power BI or other analytical/reporting tools is advantageous.
• A proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in understanding business performance.
