London – Reporting to COO

We are working with a well established boutique hedge fund that is looking for a Head of Finance that will report to the COO to take ownership of the firm’s financial operations. This is a hands-on role covering both fund accounting and corporate accounting , with responsibility for ensuring robust financial controls and timely reporting across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of fund accounting (NAV oversight, performance reporting, liaising with administrators and auditors).
• Manage corporate accounting including the outsourced accounting firm (management accounts, statutory reporting, cash management, payroll, and tax).
• Partner closely with the COO and wider leadership team to support strategic decision making.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, governance, and processes appropriate for a regulated investment management business.
• Act as a key contact for external stakeholders including administrators, auditors, and tax advisors.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.
• Strong background in hedge fund, asset management, or private markets finance (fund + corporate).
• Confident operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where you are both strategic and hands-on.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work closely with senior management.
