Financial Controller - London/Hybrid - £80,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + Bens

An international consumer brand in the premium retail sector is recruiting a Financial Controller to take ownership of group-level financial operations and reporting across multiple global regions. This position will support the leadership team in maintaining strong financial control, delivering reliable management information, and improving efficiency within a fast-growing, multi-entity business.

The role will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, statutory compliance, and financial governance. Working closely with senior finance leadership, the Financial Controller will ensure high standards of accuracy in consolidated reporting, lead external audit processes, and strengthen operational and financial controls across global entities.

In addition to technical oversight, the position involves managing a small finance team, supporting system improvements, and acting as a key business partner to commercial and operational teams.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Ownership of group accounting and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate management information
• Oversight of statutory accounts, audit coordination, and external compliance across international regions
• Development of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalable growth
• Support for ERP and system optimisation projects to enhance data quality and reporting capability
• Leadership of a small team covering core accounting and transactional functions
• Provision of analytical insight to senior stakeholders to inform commercial decision-making

Experience & Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Post-qualification experience within a multi-entity, international environment (retail or consumer goods sector advantageous)
• Proven experience managing financial reporting, audit, and compliance processes
• Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP / FRS 102 and international tax considerations
• Track record of improving systems, processes, and financial controls
• Confident communicator able to engage with non-finance stakeholders and senior management
